- 双语教学的优势 | Advantages of Bilingual Teaching -
幼儿双语教育是在幼儿阶段对孩子进行两种语言的教授，以推动孩子认知、思维、记忆等认知能力协调发育。加拿大的研究者们在上个世纪就发现，受过双语教育孩子的智力测验分数普遍偏高。他们觉得这是因为接受双语教育的儿童，要经常面对语言之间的协调问题，思考能力因此受到刺激而高度发展。而且接受双语教育的儿童拥有较强的抽象思维能力，很早就能分辨出哪些信息和问题有关系,哪些信息是无关紧要的。
Bilingual education for young kids is to teach children two languages in the early childhood stage, so as to promote the coordinated development of children's cognition, thinking, memory & other cognitive abilities. Canadian researchers have found in the last century that bilingually educated children generally have higher intelligence test scores. They discovered this is because a child who receive bilingual education often face coordination challenges between languages, and so the child's thinking ability is stimulated and becomes highly developed. Moreover, children who receive bilingual education have strong abstract thinking abilities, and can distinguish early on which information is relevant to the problem and which information is irrelevant.
语言和文化两者间有着密切关系。在学习另一种语言的时候，孩子也会在不知不觉中学到有关这种语言的文化。这种文化的学习可以丰富孩子的人生经验，为他将来融入社会打下坚实的基础。多学一门语言，孩子的交友范围会比只会一种语言的孩子广一些，朋友也会多一些。
There is a close relationship between language and culture. When learning another language, the child also unconsciously learns about the culture of that language. The learning of this kind of culture can enrich children's life experience and lay a solid foundation for them to integrate into society in the future. By learning one more language, children will have a wider range of friends than children who only know one language, and they will be more connected with the global community.

我是一名专业的幼儿教师，在幼教行业的从业经验超过了17年。我曾经在中国广州的幼儿园中担任了十年的教师职位。来美国后，我曾经在奥克兰的文化院当了5年中文教师，专门教授繁体字。之后，我在El Cerrito的Emma’s Family DayCare担任中文老师，也在Emeryville的Montessori幼儿园担任过中文助教老师。
I am a professional early childhood teacher with more than 17 years of experience. I once worked as a teacher in a kindergarten in Guangzhou, China for ten years. After coming to the United States, I worked as a Chinese teacher at the Cultural Institute in Oakland for 5 years, specializing in teaching traditional Chinese characters. After that, I worked as a Chinese teacher at Emma’s Family DayCare in El Cerrito, and as a Chinese teaching assistant at Montessori Kindergarten in Emeryville.
我关注每一个孩子的成长和发展。作为三个孩子的妈妈，我享受与小孩子相处的每一天，他们让我的世界充满了热情和阳光。我对中文教育的热爱敦促我在移民美国之后继续进修，并且获得了幼儿教育的学位以及进行中文教育和培训的资质。我的教育计划是根据美国最新的研究和实践设计的，不仅包括学术上的进步和提升，更崇尚在游戏和活动中提高自我能力，并关注孩子的情绪发展和情感技能。我设计的课程内，除了精心打造的中文教学时间以外，更保证孩子有充分的户外活动和游戏时间，以确保他们在多方面得到培养。
I care about the growth and development of each child. As a mother of three, I enjoy every day with my little ones, who fill my world with warmth and light. My love for Chinese education prompted me to continue my studies after immigrating to the US and earning a degree in Early Childhood Education and qualifications in Chinese language education and training. My education plan is designed according to the latest research and practice in the United States, not only including academic progress and improvement, but also advocating self-improvement in games and activities, and paying attention to children's emotional development and emotional skills. In the curriculum I designed, in addition to carefully crafted Chinese teaching time, I also ensure that children have sufficient outdoor activities and game time to ensure that they are cultivated in many aspects.
